WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A SMALL, MEDIUM AND LARGE BOX?

Small BoxIf you are storing your files and books, you will likely be using our Small Book Box. These boxes are smaller in size (40x34x29cm) so take up less space in our storage facility.

Poster tubes (A1) are also classified as a small box so select this option if you have some bits of artwork that need storing.

If you are using your own box, the combined width, height, and length of your box should measure up to 110cm to be classified as a small box.

Medium Box

This is the most popular size for the majority of storage needs. You should select ‘medium’ if your goods are packed in a Medium Box (41x41x41cm), Medium Suitcase Box (45x24x58cm).

Storing crockery in a Crockery Box (58x36x32cm)? These boxes are also classified as a medium box.

If you are using your own box, the combined width, height and length of your box should measure between 110 and 130cm to be classified as a medium box.

Large BoxIf you need a little extra capacity to store your larger items, use our Large Box (45x45x61cm) or store a large luggage in our Large Suitcase Box (52x40x75cm).

If you are using your own box, the combined width, height and length of your box should measure no greater than 180cm to be classified as a large box.

Remember, all boxes must weigh under 25kg, and be made of good quality, double-walled cardboard.

As we price according to box size, please ensure that you select the correct storage size for your box. We reserve the right to change your pricing plan to the correct rate if you send in boxes that are larger than the category chosen.

WHAT KIND OF BOXES AND PACKING MATERIALS CAN YOU PROVIDE?

All of the packing materials we provide are of excellent quality for storage and transportation. Our cardboard boxes are made of double-walled corrugated cardboard for extra strength, and we also sell specialist packing materials including boxes for suitcases, bikes, crockery and archiving. You can order your boxes, packing tape and bubble wrap anytime.

To make things as simple for you, below is a list of packing materials we sell and which size category they fall under:

Small sized:

Book Box: 29 x 34 x 40 cm
Poster Tube: 50 x 686 mm

Medium sized:

Medium Box: 41x41x41cm
Medium Suitcase Box: 25x45x58cm
Crockery Box: 36x58x32cm

Large sized:

Large Box: 45x45x50cm
Large Suitcase Box: 40x52x75cm

It’s highly recommended that you use our boxes as they are able to withstand significant weight and are suitable for transportation and storage.

HOW SHOULD I LABEL MY BOXES AND ITEMS?

When you book your collection, unique labels are generated for each of your items. These need to be attached to the items, so that we know which items are yours! Please note that unlabelled items may not be collected

You’ll just need to affix them securely to each item. For orders placed 72 hours before the collection date, we will post your labels to you.
If you’re sending in luggage, you must send your luggage inside a suitcase box. Your label should be placed on the suitcase box, and a second one should be attached to the luggage inside the box.

CAN I USE MY OWN CARDBOARD BOXES?

Of course you can use your own cardboard boxes, we’re all about flexibility! If your things are already packed, we don’t see why we’d force you to repack them. We just ask that you make sure the cardboard boxes you choose are sufficiently sturdy to do the job (double-walled cardboard), and that they are not heavier than 25kg when full.

Size categories when using your own cardboard box:Please make sure that you select the correct category for the size of box you are using.

Small Box = combined width, height and length of up to 110cm
Medium Box = combined width, height and length between 110 and 130cm
Large Box = combined width, height and length between 130 and 180cm
Other Item = combined width, height and length over 180cm

Box QualityPlease don’t risk damage to your items by using any old or single walled cardboard box, or boxes which are meant for other purposes; i.e crisp boxes – it needs to be heavy-duty, so if it’s found at the supermarket checkout, it’s probably not suitable. Our boxes are made of double-walled, corrugated cardboard and are able to handle the significant weight. Our medium box dimensions are 41x41x41cm.

If you do choose to use your own cardboard box and it comes apart in transit to our storage facility, your items will be repacked into one of our boxes for their safety. You may be charged for the packing materials and packing service.

IS THERE A WEIGHT LIMIT FOR MY BOXES OR ITEMS?

In order to make sure that your things won’t ever get damaged ‐ and out of concern for the backs of the collection and delivery guys and gals ‐ we ask that boxes don’t exceed our maximum weight limit of 25kg, which is the same weight as the checked baggage allowance at most major airlines.
